Sangria – The New Wine Cooler

Bodega-Wine-Cooler_1

At its most basic level, wine coolers are refreshing drinks for outdoor Summer parties or barbeques. They come in a variety of different flavors, and now can include both red and white wines. Originally, wine coolers had a base of white wine and carbonated water, with added flavoring on top. Today, the wine cooler business is based off of wine and fruit juice, with the combination of a carbonated beverage such as soda or water. Wine coolers can be homemade or bought, and the options of flavors are limitless.

The combination of wine and fruit juice does not just stop with wine coolers though, as this is also the base for most sangrias. The majority of sangria recipes allow for an optional addition of a carbonated beverage such as Sprite or 7-Up, just as it is an optional addition if you choose to add brandy. So, the next time you are debating between which wine cooler to use for your next party, try considering using sangria for a fruitier, more festive approach!
